Introduction

Understanding the similarities and differences between diverse cultures is enhanced through personal relationships. Thus, globalism helps citizens comprehend and appreciate cultural differences. In addition, globalization raises awareness of socio–economic and political issues. The roles of corporations, government, and global issues provide thoughtful discussions. In this section, globalization is defined, multi–national institutions are identified, and global issues are delved further. Interacting with athletes and others will provide an opportunity for debate, reflection, and hopefully, a better insight of the world we inhabit.
